A railroad bridge has collapsed in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. The cause of the Cedar Rapids railroad bridge collapse isn’t known yet.
The number of dead or injured has not been released, though it will probably be awhile before that is even known. Rail cars tumbled into the flooded river. I am hoping the real damage will be limited to loss of cargo and not of human life.

Salvia seeds are all the rage. There is a certain type of salvia (salvia divinorum) that is basically Mother Nature’s little herbal high. However the college kid and teen crowd needs to understand that just because Salvia is legal most places it can be harmful. Be warned that some states are moving to make the sale of salvia divinorum seeds and plants illegal.
If you are looking for a few herb growing tips this is not the blog for you.

Ron Paul Republicans rejoice! Ron Paul has booked an arena in Minneapolis for a “mini-convention” on September 2nd, which is the second day of the Republican National Convention. The Ron Paul campaign hopes to pack 11,000 supporters into the Williams Arena at the University of Minnesota.

The Justice Department’s Office of Special Investigation has been pursuing naturalized citizens with alleged Nazi ties for around three decades. The office has prevailed in more than 100 cases, leading to at least 65 deportations.
They got another victory today in their case against former Nazi guard Anton Geiser. Thumbs up for justice, even belated justice.

The news just reported that yet another plane crash has occurred, this time at the Khartoum airport in Sudan. Luckily there are reports of at least some survivors. Not much is known regarding the Sudanese plane crash at this point.
The plane apparently veered off a runway as it landed in Khartoum, and then burst into flames. The plane had come from Amman, Jordan.

So the “Worst Office Freak Out Ever” video on YouTube is going viral. I went and I watched it. I think it is fake. Okay not exactly fake, it isn’t what it seems or is reported to be. I think it is staged.
There is nothing on the office gone wild video that looks like typical reactions that you would expect from people if a co-worker was going on a rampage like that. Women didn’t flee, men didn’t attempt to tackle and subdue the guy, nor did security officers, a boss or an office manager appear on the scene to get matters under control.

Beer drinkers be warned, John McCain plans to veto every beer. Veto beer? Americans should not tolerate that. We are paying record prices for gas, food, and our beloved frosty beers.
John McCain should be focused on pumping up the economy so we can better afford our beer. How about putting more emphasis on American jobs and encouraging more breweries to open?

Anyone reading the newspaper or watching the nightly news knows that foreclosure rates are sky high. Most people probably think it is only the lower levels of society taking and hit but the recent news of Ed McMahon and Evander Holyfield both also facing foreclosure should show that foreclosure is not an isolated problem.
