As if the last ad about Paris and Britney wasn’t bad enough, the McCain campaign has released one that is even more baffling. I could at least understand him wanting to put Paris and Britney is an ad, he does have a thing for younger blonds with substance abuse issues.

This new ad, that I will just refer to as the “They Will Call Him The One” ad, has me wondering how much McCain is paying his staff because they are destroying him. Playing on religion is NEVER a good strategy. He should have learned from how badly that backfired on Hillary Clinton.

McCain already had problems with the conservative base of the Republican party and poking fun at their religion is not going to help. Does John McCain know the definition of the word “blasphemy?” He really has crossed a line. He may think he was scaring them into thinking Obama is the anti-Christ but many religious people are waiting for the second coming so they may just vote for Obama to help usher in the second coming of Christ!!!

The election of a President should be a serious matter. Issues need to be addressed and plans laid out. What I see from the McCain campaign is a bunch of poorly done ads that seem like they should be running late at night on some comedy show. They lack dignity and are insulting to the citizens they are directed at. Shame on you John McCain!

The United States is facing huge budget shortfalls, unemployment is growing, and health care is still a huge burden on most families. McCain has failed to learn from history… It’s the economy stupid!

Please vote for Ron Paul!!!

The Barack Obama campaign has launched a website, the “Low Road Express”, in response to the television ad John McCain’s campaign came out with the other day that basically compares Obama to Britney Spears and Paris Hilton. I am not sure why John McCain wants us to think that Barack Obama doesn’t wear underwear and shaves his genitalia. LOL

I really think that ad is going to backfire on McAngry. Even if it doesn’t blow up in his face, it shows that he isn’t above playing low ball. I think that it has hurt his image with many of his supporters.

I’m a Republican but there is nothing that could make me vote for John McAngry. I will not be voting for Obama (Ron Paul is still my guy) but Obama scares me less than John McCain. His temper is something that every American needs to take into consideration.

CNN has a story running about a kitten in South Bend, Indiana that supposedly has an image of Jesus in its fur. I watched the video and you have to REALLY stretch the limits of your imagination to look at the cat’s fur swirl and see what they want you to see.

On top of that I am growing tired of all the news stories being done any time someone sees anything that remotely looks like Jesus. Is there really not a more important news story to run or charity that could use some free air time? Running these “feel good” pieces only encourages people to try and get their 15 minutes of fame.

Why isn’t there ever an image of Buddha, Thor, or the Flying Spaghetti Monster? Now that may seem like a humorous question not to be taken seriously but I really want to point out how certain religions are marginalized even in the most mundane of ways.

But at least those gods aren’t being twisted to meet someone’s need for approval. What is sad is how the story is slanted… Good and Evil? Come on!

I’m glad the family doesn’t care if people think they are crazy. Personally I think they are worse than crazy, they are exploiting a kitten so they can get 15 minutes of fame.

And the reporter who drafted the story needs to be canned. The story starts out talking about how 4 kittens were found and then immediately talks about the 2 that were kept. So were the other 2 given away or did they die — you know, because Jesus didn’t love them as much???

I love my cats. I am glad that at least 2 of the kittens in this story have a good home. I guess I will just have to keep wondering about the other 2.

Robert Burck has been arrested in San Francisco and given a citation for “violating a posted sign.” Seems like an odd charge to enforce but I doubt it has any serious legal consequences or punishment.

Robert Burck is better known as “the Naked Cowboy.” Burck is a NYC street musician who performers dressed only in skin-tight underpants, cowboy boots and a cowboy hat. He gained fame and trademarked “the Naked Cowboy.”

He is currently involved with a lawsuit against Mars, Inc. due to possible trademark infringement. I doubt those lawyers are the ones representing him regarding his arrest.

Everyone likes the M&Ms commercials so I think Burck should be flattered that his image or likeness was used. It was free publicity for him. Then again maybe he is suing so that he gets even more publicity. And maybe the arrest is yet another publicity stunt.

I wonder if the lawsuit will make M&M collectibles more valuable?

I am disappointed. I have owned Sirius Satellite Radio for several years. I really like the 80’s station and the NFL package. I am hoping nothing will change when the merger actually comes to fruition.

They say that subscribers will be able to receive the channels of BOTH providers. I got in early and actually own a lifetime subscription, meaning I don’t have a monthly subscription. Needless to say I am worried about whether I am going to be asked to fork out more money now. I certainly hope not. But I do enjoy Sirius and I would really miss it if it disappeared.

Maybe things will improve if the 2 stations aren’t battling it out for subscribers. Perhaps this will be what the industry needs to really flourish.

I don’t understand the people who keep saying it is too late and to just let President Bush’s term run out. Is there a Statute of Limitations on war crimes? NO! Is there a time limit for holding public officials accountable for violating the oath of office where they swear to uphold the Constitution?

If elected officials are not held liable and accountable for their actions then our form of government is useless. We are supposed to have checks and balances. The President is not supposed to issue private executive orders that members of Congress cannot see and the Supreme Court cannot rule on. We are a nation of laws and no one person is above the law, not even the President!

This isn’t some Democratic payback for the impeachment of President Clinton. Clinton deserved to be impeached as well, though quite honestly I think the tried him for the wrong offenses.

And while we are at it, I think every member of Congress who voted for the Patriot Act should immediately be removed from office. I’m not sure why they voted on a bill they never even had a chance to read. Responsible members of Congress take their oaths seriously and those who vote blindly need to be held accountable. I think they are all guilty of crimes against the Constitution as well.

It is sad that an entire sport can sometimes be put on trial (so to speak) for the actions of one or a handful of players. The Tour De France is riddled with speculation of just how common doping is, football has taken a hit over Michael Vick’s dog fights and the numerous players who have been accused of domestic violence, boxing had to deal with an ear being bitten off, and tons of colleges have athletes each year that are accused of rape. All of these incidents reflect poorly on their respective sport.

Mixed Martial Arts (MMA ) is the new sport on the block and MMA is facing the first big publicity problem. Former UFC light heavyweight champion, Quinton “Rampage” Jackson, has been arrested on charges of felony evading, reckless driving and hit-and-run. Apparently he took his nickname a little too seriously.

While Quinton “Rampage” Jackson is innocent until proven guilty I think the powers that be need to act quickly in dealing out punishment. MMA is already seen as a violent sport by many. It is said to be the fastest growing sport in the world and as such it should send a very clear message to all up and coming fighters that their out of ring behavior cannot be reckless.

Fair or not a sport is judged by its superstars and Quinton “Rampage” Jackson was one of the best known MMA fighters. He recently lost his title and I think this incident may be related to that defeat.

I am a big fan of most of Jib Jab political videos, which can be viewed at JibJab.com if you haven’t seen them yet. However the most recent video “Time For Some Campaignin” isn’t nearly as good as their previous ones.

“Time For Some Campaignin” is a spoof video and it does have some funny bits, my favorite being the “change” part, but some of the voices are off and the music doesn’t quite have the energy I was hoping to see.

I know I am not the only one who was looking forward to this video. I am not panning it, just not overly enthused by it. I only forwarded it to one person. No rant or rave here, I am indifferent on this video. And I am still voting for Ron Paul!!!

Cow merchandise has been hot for a long time. My sister loves to collect cow items.

The Chik-fil-A in my area closed down a few years ago so I won’t be able to take part in Cow Appreciation Day. I do love the idea though and wish Chik-fil-A the best.

Greatest American Dog is more of a stupid manipulated reality show than a true test of what could be considered the Greatest American Dog.

My dog is a great dog but I would never have subjected him to the terms and conditions of that show. I wonder if the human contestants really even cared what their dogs wanted. At least one of the judges pointed that out a few times, that the dog(s) didn’t seem comfortable and/or were showing signs of stress. For that I blame the whole premise of the show (and the production staff) as much as the contestants.

Bottom line, love your dog but don’t subject them to silly reality shows. Dogs deserve better than that. Now show your best friend how much you care and buy a new dog toy for him or her.
