Friday the 13th and I am still alive. And apparently so are you. One week ago I wrote about The House Of Yahweh And Nuclear War, which was basically my rant about how the media hypes these idiots who predict the end of the world or some other great disaster.

Neither June 12th nor Friday the 13th has not brought about Armageddon, not that I in the least bit suspected it would. Sure there has been many natural disasters making the news lately but Mother Nature is what she is. She is cruel and she is kind. Life is not a picnic, we need the bad in order to appreciate the good.

As I guessed there has been little to no follow through on the initial story. The press basically gave Yisrayl Hawkins, head of the House of Yahweh religious sect, free publicity. Where is the story where they interview Yisrayl Hawkins and say “Hey you farking idiot, where is the nuclear strike you said was coming?”

The House of Yahweh is a religious cult as far as I am concerned and I think the press agencies that gave Yisrayl Hawkins air time are complicit in any recruits the House of Yahweh gained due to that story.

This wasn’t the first time Yisrayl Hawkins has gotten a free pass either. Why? News organizations are supposed to have some sort of journalistic integrity. Any reporter with half a brain should understand that some people are easily preyed upon and by airing a story like this those people are one step closer to being a cult victim. Why? Because you gave the cult some sort of credibility by reporting on it and taking it as a serious religious organization.

So I say again to the main stream press, STOP giving these idiots free press. None of their predictions ever come true. If it is a slow news day run a feel good piece about the local honors student or give some free press to the charity of your choice. DO NOT aid in these cults reaching more people.

Write, interview, or report on what is good in the world instead of dwelling on what great disaster might be around the next corner.
