Two thumbs up and a big rave for Mother Nature. Why? She has created a berry that will change the way our palates render food. Just think, a miracle fruit tablet at dinner and parents will no longer have to fight with their children about finishing everything on their plates.

But apparently adults have found another use for this miracle fruit and that is hosting “flavor tripping” parties.

At these flavor tripping parties, guests pop the Synsepalum dulcificum berries into their mouths and swirl them around scrapping the skin off. After the miracle fruit berry has spent about a minute on the tongue lemons will taste as sweet as candy.

This miracle fruit of Mother Nature’s is better known as Synsepalum dulcificum. It is native to West Africa.

Synsepalum dulcificum has been known to Westerners since the 18th century. I wish someone had clued me in. Had I known about this little berry when I was a child I wouldn’t have had to pay my sister 50 cents to eat my broccoli!!!

Second thought, the miracle fruit berries are said to run about $2 a piece so perhaps my sister is still cost effective
