Rookie Yani Tseng has won the LPGA Championship. Congrats Yani Tseng!

Yani Tseng is a 19 year old golfing sensation out of Taiwan with a decorated amateur career. Today she won the McDonald’s LPGA Championship and became the second youngest woman to win a major. A rookie hasn’t won the McDonald’s LPGA Championship in 10 years, since Se Ri Pak won back in 1998.

Women’s golf has come a long way and is gaining popularity with more and more youngsters. The golf industry is making leaps and bounds in welcoming the new demographic to the market. Sales of golfing equipment geared towards women is skyrocketing.

Ladies golf
isn’t the only demographic that is growing. Children are becoming much more common on the golf course. With the huge success of Tiger Woods many parents realize the importance of developing the love of the game as well as the skills and techniques.

Golf pros use to only give lessons to business men. Today some golf pros specialize in coaching women and children.
