The Antoin “Tony” Rezko trial verdict is in, guilty on 16 of the 24 corruption counts. The jury convicted Rezko of 12 counts of wire and mail fraud, two counts of money laundering and two counts of aiding and abetting bribery.

Many people have been watching and waiting for the verdict on this trial. It could have a major ripple effect.

Gov. Rod Blagojevich should face the toughest repercussions from the implications of having made Tony Rezko such a major part of his administration. However the Presidential race may see some of the waves as well.

Democratic Presidential nominee Barack Obama has ties to Tony Rezko, as a friend and as a fundraiser. Though how much this will hyped is yet to be seen.

Stuart Levine was the star witness in the case. Levine was intimately involved with the scandal and pleaded guilty back in 2006. Stuart Levine was a long time Republican insider which is why it is hard to tell how much the Republicans want to make of this scandal and guilty verdict.

Anyway, a big rave to the jury and all the court officials involved for helping to clean up the corruption in politics.
